"Polar Bear, Dr Ping and the Friends of the Earth" - The Climate Musical
Sunday, 01 February 2009 10:31

Lothar, the Polar bear, and Dr Ping from the South Pole University share a common problem, the earth has a fever and their homes are melting. They set out on a journey trying to convince people that the planet needs help.
To cool down during the trip, Lothar uses the fridge of Paula and Paul, but gets discovered. The two children, however, decide to help Lothar in his mission. But it isn’t quite that simple, the three power hungry creatures Ampere, Volt and Watt have their own mission, - to make sure that the world uses more and more energy. Will Lothar, Dr Ping and the children manage to stop them? And will that be enough to save the planet, Lothars and Dr Ping’s homes?
The musical for children about causes and problems of climate change, was initiated by the Friends of the Earth in Germany and opened in Berlin in October last year. Music, texts and practical hints for the musical are available as a book and on CD for school classes to make their own productions.
