Climate Action Factories – youth energy to boost climate negotiations
Thursday, 20 August 2009 11:53
In order to kick-start bold leadership from politicians to reach a new climate agreement, the global web-movement Avaaz.org this summer set up two Climate Action Factories in Washington DC and Berlin, full of highly skilled and dedicated youth advocates.
The two teams of 25 young and dedicated activists work to implement creative actions and campaigns calling for climate leadership and a strong binding global climate treaty at Copenhagen this December.
The fellows working in the factories are supported with food, lodging, and modest monthly stipends, as well as resources for climate activism. In exchange, they commit to devoting their summer months to mobilizing stunts, lobbying campaigns, and other actions.
