REClimate – film competition on climate kicks off

All 15-19 year olds in the Nordic countries are now invited to share their thoughts and ideas on climate change through creative film making in the “REClimate- film for the climate” film competition.

The aim of REClimate is to inspire young filmmakers to use different forms of film such as music videos, short documentaries, animations or experimental film to participate in the political debate. The best films will be screened at the United Nations Climate Summit in Copenhagen in December.

The website www.reclimate.net opens for submissions on 24 August 2009 and remains open until the deadline 23 October 2009. The winners will be selected through popular vote on the competition website and by a jury.

Members of the jury include: Swedish artist Timbuktu, Danish actor Cyron Melville, Norwegian actress Iram Haq and Finnish actor Samuli Vauramo.

REClimate is an opportunity for young people to have their voices heard at the climate summit, an opportunity to share ideas and win 2000 euros.
