Cop15 is finally here. Still wondering how to make your voice count? It’s not too late. After the great success with Earth Hour March 2009, when millions of people from 88 countries showed their support for the climate, WWF now challenges people from all across the globe to “vote for earth”. On the webpage www.earthour.org you can give your voice by adding your message, name, address and see it appearing on a specially designed world map.

In other words, as WWF puts it: “The world’s first global election is taking place – an election between earth and global warming. It’s time to make our voice heard as one global people, to make sure world leaders vote earth”.

Earth Hour has collected nearly 60,000 votes from all over the world so far. Celebrities such as actress Cate Blanchett, singer Natalie Imbruglia and UN Climate Chief Yvo de Boer have all voted. The more votes for Earth, the stronger the mandate will be for decisive action on climate change at the COP15 climate summit. So there's never been a better time to throw your support behind the environment. Simply vote by clicking here.

Copenhagen Earth Hour
Since 2007, Earth Hour has gained worldwide support for positive action against global warming. It all began with 2.2 million people in one city using their light switches to have their say. By March 2009, hundreds of millions of people in over 4,000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off to vote for Earth.

This happening will be repeated on the eve of the summit on December 16, when the full force of Vote Earth will be seen by the world in an historical Earth Hour event. At 7 pm the people of Copenhagen will unite in darkness in a show of support for a brighter future. They will be ambassadors for the 6.7 billion citizens of Earth calling positive action on climate change. Read more here.

Earth Hour is organized by World Wildlife Fund (WWF). With almost 5 million supporters and a global network in over 100 countries, it’s one of the world's largest and most respected independent conservation organizations. The WWF mission is to stop the degradation of the Earth's natural environment and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.
