Vocal youth movement in Copenhagen
Thursday, 10 December 2009 00:00

As COP15 delegates gather in Copenhagen to discuss our globe's future, numerous youth organizations and NGOs from all over the world have also arrived in the city to fight for their cause – representing an enormous engagement for global warming. Although they don’t have a voice in the negotiations themselves, NGOs are effective in that they are youthful, visual and vocal.
Several met in the Bella Center yesterday. And with stunts like magic trick show, waste picking and ’meaningless’ phone calls with bananas NGO demonstrations are also quite difficult to ignore.“People, wake up! Climate change is real. It is happening now in my backyard”, said a woman from Tuvalu, the small nation of islands could be the first country to disappear because of global warming. “Climate treaty now!” she shouted together several 350.org members.
This and many other actions, demonstrations and small interviews can be seen through the cop15live.com's live mobile reports from citizen journalists at the Bella center and around Copenhagen - updating now!
