Seal the Deal!, the campaign calling for a climate deal in Copenhagen, has attracted the support of Austrian pop group My Excellence who have released a song called "Come On (Seal the Deal)" .
My Excellence members, singer and songwriter Richie Ulmer, guitarist Chris Kolasinski, Michael Pint on bass and drummer Paul Schneider, performed the song for the first time live on August 28 at a ceremony at the United Nations Office in Vienna attended by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The Vienna based band mixes pop, punk and classical music and according to their website, aim to write a whole new type of classical music that uses the biggest classical melodies arranged to sound like contemporary music. Their debut album "Pomp's Not Dead", released in 2009, conjured the spirits of Mozart and Bach creating their very own punk as “homage to the geniuses of classical music”.
“On this album indie guitars fuse with political lyrics, drum grooves melt with sonatas and distortions reveal strings", the band says.
