Shirts off for climate change!
Wednesday, 28 October 2009 12:24
Finnish celebrities and pop stars are taking off their clothes in order to raise awareness about global warming.
Twelve actors, singers, TV-personalities and other well-known people in Finland are taking part in a photo campaign called Yli 2 astetta ("Over 2 degrees" in Finnish). The aim is to remind people of global warming and to expose the uncomfortable conditions the global temperature rise will generate. The celebrities will pose in the pictures with very little clothing, as the purpose is to make people realize the impact that climate change will have.
By selecting famous personalities in their twenties and thirties, photographer Karoliina Bärlund wishes to, in particular, wake up the young audience.
All the pictures will be auctioned in November, and the profits will be spent on information campaigns on climate change.
