SLIPPERS
For the slippers, you can use almost any fabric; thicker and stronger fabrics, such as old jeans, quilts, fleece and old pullovers that shrunk in the washing machine will do fine.
You can also use sheets and old T-shirts, but then it’s good to build each side with more than one layer, as the slipper should be quite firm to work well on your foot. If you want to have extra soft soles, you can even layer the soles with terry from old towels!
Cut four pieces of the side pattern, and two pieces of the round pattern, adding +0.5-1cm extra around the pattern. Remark, that the lines should continue all the way up to the edges of the paper. Check, that your foot is about the same size as the sole you plan to cut; if you are unsure about the size, just cut the pieces a bit bigger and sew them in after you have tried them on.
First, sew the side patterns together. Keep the right sides towards each other, and sew along the dotted lines appointed in the figure. Finish the seams with zigzag, serging or by hand.
Next, pin the round circle to fit the sock part, and sew it to the sides and serge or zigzag the edges to prevent fraying.
When you now turn the slipper around, it's done! Fold the fabric around the ankle a couple of times, to keep the slipper in shape.
Pin a Seal the Deal! badge, and wear! Adjust the room temperature a couple of degrees lower, as your feet are no longer cold.
