Training: Climate change and sustainable development in NGO development cooperation
This training course is intended for the Finnish NGOs and their partners who work with development cooperation . The course is organised jointly by Kepa, the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation and Finn Church Aid.The training will include presentations with practical examples and group work on integrating climate change into NGO development cooperation and climate proofing the programs. The following topics are discussed:
* Integrating climate change into development cooperation
* Climate proofing
* Impact of climate change in water sector particularly from farmers perspective in Tamil Nadu, India
* Rural women create climate-friendly trade in Mali
The trainers will be Mr. Richard Ewbank from Christian Aid, Mr Marirajan from Joint Action for Sustainable Livelihoods -network (JASuL) and People's Education for Action and Liberation (PEAL), Tamil Nadu, India, Ms. Tuuli Kaskinen from Dodo and Ms. Riitta Savikko from the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (SLL). Mr. Matti Nummelin, Environmental advisor from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will present the Ministry´s view.
The language of the training event is mainly English.
