The 8-day Forest

Over 8 days we want to replant a Forest. We want to make Sandakan Green again. We want blue skies in the town we live. Air that is always clean to breathe. A Natural Environment to grow old in.

In-line with their love of plants and inspired by World Environment Day 2009, BALIN roofgarden bar & bistro, NAK Hotel and PAGANAKAN DII Tropical Retreat are asking Sandakan folk to take a moment to remember the town as it once was –lush and green, and to play a part in keeping it green and ecologically-rich, by sponsoring trees!

In turn the public will be beautifying barren areas around our fast developing town, and play a positive part in emphasizing/moulding Sandakan as a model eco-friendly town. Over 8 days, from the 6^th to the 13^th June, they hope the response will enable them to replant a forest in Sandakan!

For a sum of RM20, you will be contributing to carbon reduction, shade creation and photosynthesis in Life’s complex cycle. All proceeds from the purchase of trees will go towards buying the trees from our Sabah Forestry Department nursery, fertilizers and employing labour to plant the trees. The remainder of the proceeds will be donated to the Anti-Coal Fire Power Plant campaign that BALIN is also supporting.
