Focus on climate at Aarhus University

A number of climate-related research and innovative activities in the different main academic areas are carried out at the University of Aarhus. These involve collaboration between the main academic areas and external working partners, and interdisciplinary activities between some of the main academic areas. Over the course of time, certain research areas have been directly connected with the climate and its changes. Along with increased focus during the last decade on climate changes and their impact, much of the research carried out at the University of Aarhus has naturally been directly related to climate research. The University of Aarhus has appointed a Climate Panel that aims to ensure a high level of academic quality, constructive collaboration within the climate area, and a contribution to joint profiling of the university’s expertise in this area.

In this connection, the university has also appointed a Climate Secretariat. The task of the Climate Secretariat is to strengthen the university’s profile and involvement in activities in the climate area by coordinating, setting up and/or providing information about relevant research and teaching activities – both internally and externally; collecting information and coordinating climate-related information services; organising special climate activities; and strengthening cooperative relations between the University of Aarhus and the business community regarding climate-related activities.
